Our Founder

Our team

Hi, I’m Angela, and welcome to Yoga Rise Blackpool! If you're new, take your time to explore our site and visit the "Start Here" page. For our returning clients, thank you for checking out our new website.

Since 2016, what began as a space for my classes has evolved into a vibrant and supportive community. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has joined me on this journey; your trust and energy are what make our studio special. You are in good hands at Yoga Rise, our teachers are highly experienced and qualified in their offerings, and they are dedicated to their practice. You'll often see our teachers practicing at the studio themselves.

I have over a decade of teaching experience, am a senior Yoga Alliance Professionals teacher, and have completed more than 1,000 hours of teacher training. Additionally, I’m a BACP-registered integrative counsellor and a qualified MBSR and MBCT mindfulness teacher. My work is rooted in psychology, mindfulness, and helping others understand themselves.

Currently, I teach Mindful Yoga and Meditation classes, offer eight-week mindfulness courses, and provide counselling at Yoga Rise, online, and in Spain. My intention is to create a welcoming space where you feel supported and can meet yourself with kindness and curiosity.

Our Teachers

Vinyasa – Aerial

Claire Nutton

Hi, I’m Claire Nutton. I’m a 500-hour + Registered Yoga Teacher and level 4 Personal Trainer.

My background has always been in health and fitness; I have over 20 years (gulp!!) of experience & qualifications. I continue to learn, grow, and study various types of yoga, and now, I blend techniques and practices, allowing me to create a method of movement that complements how the body moves daily- TDY Yoga.

I LOVE sharing yoga; I enjoy making movement accessible to everyone! When we find the balance between the mind & body, we can start living a happier, healthier life.

Yin – Vinyasa Slow Flow

Charlotte Spink

Hi, I'm Charlotte, a Yoga Alliance registered teacher with extensive training in Yin Yoga. Alongside my yoga qualifications, I am also a certified Personal Trainer, Reiki Practitioner (Levels 1 and 2), and Ayurveda Educator trained at the California College of Ayurveda. My approach blends mindful movement, stillness, and self-care to help you find balance both on and off the mat.

Like many of my students, I once felt burnt out from working long hours, commuting endlessly, and running on empty. When I returned to yoga, it became more than a stretch; it became my reset button. I learned how to calm my mind, restore my energy, and feel at home in my body again. That experience led me to train deeply with Yoga Campus and learn from inspiring teachers such as Jason Crandell, Judith Hanson Lasater, and Norman Blair.

Now, I love sharing that same journey of renewal with others. In my classes, you will discover how to let go of tension, move with more ease, and tap into a sense of inner calm that stays with you long after class ends.

At Yoga Blackpool, I teach Beginners Flow Yoga and Yin Yoga, open to all levels. Through gentle yet effective movement, you will strengthen your muscles, open your joints, and create space for your body to move with ease. You will leave feeling physically stronger, emotionally balanced, and deeply restored from the inside out.

Hatha Yoga

Emilia Joymechk

Hi, I’m Emilia, a 200-hour Yoga Teacher & Women’s Empowerment Coach. Founder of HER Holistics Coaching, I guide women to reconnect with their bodies, balance strength with softness, and find stillness in a busy world.

Through my gentle Hatha Yoga sessions, I invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and come home to your body. In my classes, we move mindfully, connecting movement with breath, awareness with sensation. These practices help you reconnect with your inner rhythm, calm the mind, and awaken the quiet strength that already lives within you.

Our bodies hold our emotions, our stories, and our power. The body is not separate from the mind; it is the living expression of the mind, the bridge between the seen and unseen parts of us.

My mission is to help you feel safe, whole, and worthy in your body, to move with awareness, meet yourself with compassion, and return, again and again, to the sanctuary of your inner peace.

Ashtanga – Vinyasa Flow – Hatha Flow

Rose Charles

Hey, I’m Rose. I’ve been practising yoga for about a decade, and about 5 years ago, my first in-person class was at this very studio with Angela. Yoga Blackpool was the place where I found solace, peace and a route back to myself when I was going through a difficult time.

I was inspired to go deeper on this journey, and found myself in India practising Yoga & also doing my Yoga Teacher Training. I completed 550 hours of training in India across Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Yin. I have since done additional training in alignment & hands-on adjustment. I believe yoga can help us become more compassionate beings toward others and ourselves, and we definitely live in a world that could use more of that.

I teach various styles and levels, from gentle yoga for those wanting a more restful & grounded practice, to Hatha Flow for those wanting a more dynamic, heat-building practice, to Ashtanga for those who enjoy a structured and disciplined practice.

Mindful breathing and connection to the body are always encouraged, regardless of the style of practice, and focus on the alignment is also a key component of my classes (you feel like your body opening up in a whole different way - trust me).

Meditation – Pranayama

Luke Gribbon

Hi, I’m Luke. I’m a certified mindfulness and meditation teacher, including training to teach children’s mindfulness, with deep roots in the Buddhist tradition.

My first teacher was the esteemed former monk and Dharma teacher, Christopher Titmuss. I also have a background as a musician, which influences the rhythm and flow of my meditation sessions. I specialise in Mindfulness (Sati), Loving-Kindness (Metta), and Non-Dual meditation.

My meditations are designed to help you cultivate inner peace, kindness, compassion, emotional resilience, and radical acceptance. Ultimately, my aim is to guide you back to the happiness and freedom that already exist within you, simply waiting to be recognised.

Yin, Restorative, Beginners Course

Grace Rushton

I’m a Trauma-Informed Yoga and Somatic Teacher, Yin and Menopause Yoga Teacher, and NHS Health Coach Practitioner. I came to yoga later in life; it felt like a return to breath, a gentle homecoming. Through perimenopause, injury, and illness, yoga became my sanctuary, and now I offer that same space for others to rest, rebuild, and reconnect. With over thirty years’ experience in bodywork, health coaching, and exercise referral within the NHS, I hold space for movement and stillness, for grief and joy, for anyone learning to feel at home in their body again.

My teaching combines training in Yoga, Yin yoga, Menopause Yoga, Mindful Yoga in Supportive and Palliative Care, Reiki, and Health Coaching. I’m currently deepening my studies in Trauma-Informed Somatic and Restorative Yoga. My classes are gentle invitations, grounded in anatomical integrity, mindful presence, and seasonal rhythm, a soft place to land and begin again.

Meditation – Pranayama – Sound Bath

Adam Clark

Hi, I'm Adam. A Qualified Sound Therapy, Restorative Yoga and Breathwork teacher. With a lifetime of interest in how the Mind, Soul and Body operate and a great dedication to how we can improve our lives, for ourselves and for others.

I use my musical background to aid my Sound Baths, treating my Singing Bowls, Gongs, Solfeggio Chimes and Rainmaker as instruments rather than equipment. This results in a transformative journey through Sound, helping to remove stagnant energy and tension. Getting your energy flowing, aiding mental and physical healing. At times, allowing visuals and colours to pop up in the mind during the session, resulting in a calm and chilled demeanour, so much so that you might not even want to leave afterwards!

I have a real passion for my work and bring a warm, welcoming nature to my practice. I’m always happy to hear about your experiences and answer any questions you may have.

Vinyasa Slow Flow

Natasha Coco

Hi, I’m Natasha. As a former professional ice skater, movement has always been at the heart of my life. After living in Florida for ten years, where I completed my Vinyasa Teacher Training, I discovered the transformative power of slowing down.

I am a wedding photographer constantly immersed in high-energy, fast-paced environments; Vinyasa Slow has become an essential part of my balance. It’s my way of reconnecting with the calm, grounding the body, and easing the anxious energy that comes from constantly having to be “switched on.” I’m passionate about helping others find that same stillness through mindful movement and intentional breath. Looking forward to meeting you on the mat.

Administration and Events Coordinator

Katie Nicholls

Hi, I’m Katie, and I have spent the past decade learning from and supporting wellness practitioners around the world. One of the most formative periods for me was working at The Dreaming in Wales, where I learned a great deal from Charlotte Church and her team. The experience deepened my understanding of sound healing, which has become a profoundly meaningful and fulfilling practice I now share with others. It also taught me about the day-to-day running of a large retreat and events space.

I’m really excited to be part of the YogaRise Blackpool team. I’ll be supporting everyone in the yogi community here and working with the amazing teachers to create special workshops and events for you to enjoy.

If there’s anything specific you’d love to see on the schedule here, send me a message: hello@yogariseblackpool.com.

Yoga Sculpt - Vinyasa Flow

Megan Barnes

Hi, I'm Megan. I completed my yoga teacher training in Ubud, Bali, three years ago after discovering a deep passion for yoga through years of self-practice. As a professional dancer, I used yoga throughout my career to improve flexibility and support recovery from minor dance injuries, which strengthened my understanding of movement and body awareness.

Alongside yoga, I’m also a Pilates and barre instructor and love bringing heat and energy to my classes, blending strength-based elements to create powerful, dynamic sculpt flows. I’ve been hosting events at the studio for the past two years and I’m so excited to now have a permanent home here with my Yoga Sculpt classes. I can’t wait to turn up the heat and flow with you on the mat!
