Our Founder

Our team

Hi, I'm Angela. Welcome to Yoga Rise Blackpool.

I am a Senior E-RYT 500 yoga teacher and trainer, experienced mindfulness teacher, and therapeutic counsellor with over two decades of dedicated practice and teaching.

My yoga journey began in my early twenties with Sivananda and Iyengar yoga. I later deepened my practice through multiple trips to India, studying yoga and Buddhism across Kerala, Goa, Rishikesh, and Bodhgaya. These experiences included immersive yoga practice and foundational study of Buddhism.

My teaching is rooted in the lineage of T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar, shaped by long-term study with Mark Whitwell and the Heart of Yoga. My approach is breath-led, adaptable, and grounded in yoga as a therapeutic practice for modern life.

In 2016, I founded Yoga Blackpool, creating a welcoming and inclusive space for community, connection, and wellbeing. As we move into the next decade, the studio has evolved and grown into Yoga Rise Blackpool, continuing to support both students and teachers through high-quality yoga and ongoing education.

Power Yoga Foundations - Yin Yoga

Charlotte Spink

Charlotte Spink is a 450-hour Yoga Alliance registered teacher with extensive training in both Power Yoga and Yin Yoga. Alongside her yoga qualifications, she is a certified Personal Trainer, Reiki Practitioner (Levels 1 and 2), and Ayurveda Educator trained through the California College of Ayurveda. She has furthered her studies with internationally recognised teachers including Jason Crandell, Judith Hanson Lasater, Norman Blair, and Eddie Stern. Her training combines different yoga approaches from her teachers, along with mindfulness, anatomy, and holistic wellbeing.

Charlotte’s teaching is shaped by her own personal journey with yoga, which she first discovered at a pivotal time in her life in her early twenties, an experience that deeply influenced her path and practice. She is passionate about helping people create balance in their lives through movement, stillness, and mindful awareness.

Her classes offer both energy and calm. Whether you join a Power Yoga Foundations class or a slower-paced Yin Yoga practice, you can expect to build strength, improve mobility, release tension, and leave feeling more balanced, grounded, and connected to yourself.

Hatha Yoga

Emilia Joymechk

Hi, I’m Emilia, a 200-hour Yoga Teacher & Women’s Empowerment Coach. Founder of HER Holistics Coaching, I guide women to reconnect with their bodies, balance strength with softness, and find stillness in a busy world.

Through my gentle Hatha Yoga sessions, I invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and come home to your body. In my classes, we move mindfully, connecting movement with breath, awareness with sensation. These practices help you reconnect with your inner rhythm, calm the mind, and awaken the quiet strength that already lives within you.

Our bodies hold our emotions, our stories, and our power. The body is not separate from the mind; it is the living expression of the mind, the bridge between the seen and unseen parts of us.

My mission is to help you feel safe, whole, and worthy in your body, to move with awareness, meet yourself with compassion, and return, again and again, to the sanctuary of your inner peace.

Ashtanga – Vinyasa Flow – Hatha Flow

Rose Charles

Hey, I’m Rose. I’ve been practising yoga for about a decade, and about 5 years ago, my first in-person class was at this very studio with Angela. Yoga Blackpool was the place where I found solace, peace and a route back to myself when I was going through a difficult time.

I was inspired to go deeper on this journey, and found myself in India practising Yoga & also doing my Yoga Teacher Training. I completed 550 hours of training in India across Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Yin. I have since done additional training in alignment & hands-on adjustment. I believe yoga can help us become more compassionate beings toward others and ourselves, and we definitely live in a world that could use more of that.

I teach various styles and levels, from gentle yoga for those wanting a more restful & grounded practice, to Hatha Flow for those wanting a more dynamic, heat-building practice, to Ashtanga for those who enjoy a structured and disciplined practice.

Mindful breathing and connection to the body are always encouraged, regardless of the style of practice, and focus on the alignment is also a key component of my classes (you feel like your body opening up in a whole different way - trust me).

Power Yoga - Yin

Teagn Mcleod

Tegan is a 500hr certified Yoga Instructor (since 2014). She
infuses Vinyasa and Yin Yoga elements to create an
immediate connection with your Higher Self. Having taught
yoga and creative writing extensively in the United States,
from Texas to New York, she now resides and teaches in
Blackpool, UK.

Tegan is passionate about the connection between our
bodies in flow and how we interact with the world around
us. Her vision is one of healing and empowerment, for all bodies, all abilities, all backgrounds.

Tegan’s teaching will combine invigorating and playful movement with an authentic curiosity towards a higher purpose. Her deepest desire is for her students to nurture a genuine and revolutionary kind of awareness of their own power, and be able to take this kind of self-justice off the mat into the rest of their world.

Aerial and Vinyasa Flow

Natasha Coco

Hi, I’m Natasha. As a former professional ice skater, movement has always been at the heart of my life. After living in Florida for ten years, where I completed my Vinyasa Teacher Training, I discovered the transformative power of slowing down.

I am a wedding photographer constantly immersed in high-energy, fast-paced environments; Vinyasa Slow has become an essential part of my balance. It’s my way of reconnecting with the calm, grounding the body, and easing the anxious energy that comes from constantly having to be “switched on.” I’m passionate about helping others find that same stillness through mindful movement and intentional breath. Looking forward to meeting you on the mat.

Administration and Events Coordinator

Katie Nicholls

Hi, I’m Katie, and I have spent the past decade learning from and supporting wellness practitioners around the world. One of the most formative periods for me was working at The Dreaming in Wales, where I learned a great deal from Charlotte Church and her team. The experience deepened my understanding of sound healing, which has become a profoundly meaningful and fulfilling practice I now share with others. It also taught me about the day-to-day running of a large retreat and events space.

I’m really excited to be part of the YogaRise Blackpool team. I’ll be supporting everyone in the yogi community here and working with the amazing teachers to create special workshops and events for you to enjoy.

If there’s anything specific you’d love to see on the schedule here, send me a message: hello@yogariseblackpool.com.

Meditation – Pranayama

Luke Gribbon

Hi, I’m Luke. I’m a certified mindfulness and meditation teacher, including training to teach children’s mindfulness, with deep roots in the Buddhist tradition.

My first teacher was the esteemed former monk and Dharma teacher, Christopher Titmuss. I also have a background as a musician, which influences the rhythm and flow of my meditation sessions. I specialise in Mindfulness (Sati), Loving-Kindness (Metta), and Non-Dual meditation.

My meditations are designed to help you cultivate inner peace, kindness, compassion, emotional resilience, and radical acceptance. Ultimately, my aim is to guide you back to the happiness and freedom that already exist within you, simply waiting to be recognised.
